The Öresund Bridge is the longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe, connecting Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmö in Sweden. The bridge is a road and rail link consisting of a bridge, an artificial island and a tunnel.
The 8 km bridge runs from the Swedish coast out to the man-made island of Peberholm, built to enable traffic to pass from the bridge to the tunnel. From Peberholm, the tunnel is 4km long linking to the Danish island of Amager.
