As you may be aware our 12 Quays terminal has been in need of remediation works to the grounds within the roadways and trailer park, which has suffered due to surface break up and subsidence, I am pleased to inform you that the remedial works will be starting 3rd May 2021.
This will benefit the Health & Safety of all port users and make the port operate more efficiently, it will also provide a better experience for your drivers who deliver and collect trailers from the port.
As a consequence we do expect some disruption within the port and the trailer capacity of the port will be reduced, we are putting measures in place to minimise this disruption nevertheless we can’t mitigate all disruption or guarantee that there will be no inconvenience caused by these works.
As a business we are fully aware of the need to ensure service levels at our terminals are efficient and our vessel schedules are maintained in a safe environment.
In order to maintain our service levels I do need to ask for your support with the following:
- Adherence to the ‘24hr’ rule for trailer presentations
- Prompt and timely collections from the port
- Your drivers follow and adhere to the Traffic Management systems we put in place
We will of course be monitoring the situation closely and will be in constant contact with all stakeholders, any additional measures or controls needed to ensure a safe operating environment will be communicated in a timely manner, we expect all the works to be complete by July.
I trust you understand the need for these works to take place and recognise the long term benefits to our operations which will in turn provide you with a better experience within the port.
