Here at Freightlink Motorsport we are proud to say that we support all kinds of companies and racers from a wide array of sports.
In our opinion, the more unique, the better! We’re excited to introduce our youngest, and perhaps most talented, sportswoman we support. Thirteen-year-old Oban Duncan, the power-boat racing schoolgirl, from Balloch, Scotland. At just eight years old, Oban experienced the water for the first time after receiving a level 1 RYA power boating course for her birthday.
Inspired by this experience, from here her passion for the sport grew with her competing in the RYA Youth RIB Championship ever since, often multiple times a year. The competition has led to Oban taking home trophy after trophy and even seen her going up against some of the most prominent racers in the circuit, including world champion Neil Homes who has won seven times. Whilst Oban may be one of the youngest contestants, as well as one of the only female competitors, she has never let that hold her back.
Across her almost six year career, she has raced from strength to strength. Most recently she, along with her entourage, including her proud and supportive parents Ewen and Karen, have travelled to Latvia for the World Championship GT15 Race. It was here that, you guessed it, Oban added perhaps her most impressive trophy to her collection when she came was victorious and came first.
We’re pleased to say that Freightlink have been able to support Oban in her recent ventures by being the company entrusted to ship her beloved boat, adorned in bright pink livery sporting the phrase ‘Girl Power!’ and successfully organised it was delivered in plenty of time for her race.
We can’t wait to see where Oban is heading off to next time for what we are sure will be another fantastic win and we hope to help her along however we can. If you, like Oban, have anything that you need to get to a race destination or simply anything that needs sending to another county, get in touch with our team and see what they can do for you!
We promise, no matter how far away, we can get it there in plenty of time.
