Covid-19 is still around us throwing some punches, and this gives us as a shipping company, with routes to and from Norway, big challenges. As most of you probably know, our business is based on both the passenger and freight marked, with a heavy overweight on the passenger marked. The current limitations on travelling across Scandinavia and Europe generates a very low demands for travelling.
For the past few weeks Fjord Line have made a number of steps to give us the best chance to adapt to the current situation. This includes giving dismissals and some put on furlough for several of our employees. The crew number on board our vessels have been reduced, and we will optimize as much as we can in relation to fuel saving. The reduction in crew on board might cause a reduced selection of restaurants on board, but we will as always give our best to take care of your drivers.
Fjord Line will despite of this, continue with no changes to our Schedule, and with daily departures between Hirtshals – Stavanger – Bergen and Hirtshals – Langesund.
Our focus on safety and hygiene on our vessel continues, and we have strict procedures to reduce the possibility of infections on board. It is currently mandatory to wear face masks during the crossing.
The truck drivers will as always receive their own cabin on all our departures.
We need your support. Freight is now again our primary source of income, and we will make it through this crisis with the help of you, our loyal clients and partners.
Everyone at Fjord Line appreciates your support, and for this we are extremely grateful!
