Border documents are now required by the French authorities when travelling from UK to France.

Please be aware that ONLY the listed documents below are required to be shown at the Pit stop (or sent via the Border Pass). Any others will interfere with the customs systems and therefore may delay your vehicles unnecessarily.

Customs documents

The following documents are mandatory if you are carrying goods (except postal goods only):

• A Transit Accompanying Document (TAD) : 18 characters                            and/or 
• An Import declaration (“Déclaration douane anticipée”) : 10 digits                 and/or
• A Logistics envelope : 7 characters starting with “E” 

Please ensure that ALL the characters and digits above are included in the Border Pass. 

The documents listed below are NOT to be shown at the UK Pit stop (or sent via the Border Pass):

• An UK Export Accompanying Document (EAD): 18 characters with an “X” as the 7th character
• A Safety and Security Document (SDD) : 18 characters with an “S” as the 5th character

We also remind you that all animal and plant origin products (SPS) must be accompanied by sanitary certificate and declared in TRACES NT to obtain a DSCE. It is important that ALL goods within this category have been correctly declared and have the right documentation.

Please also note that it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to stay parked on the CDS site once formalities/inspections have been completed.  

Drivers who  do not comply with these rules may be issued a penalty by the French Authorities and will be requested to move, even during their statutory breaks.
