Eurotunnel has completed the sale of its two MyFerryLink ships to DFDS.
The MyFerryLink business was shut down by competition regulators when DFDS and P&O Ferries complained to the Competition Commission because of monopoly concerns.
The Berlioz and Rodin vessels were sold to DFDS in 2015 but due to an order imposed by a Paris court they could not complete the transfer within five years.
In 2015, Carsten Jensen, senior vice president at DFDS said
"This ends a long period of uncertainty for both our employees and our customers on the Channel as this agreement gives us the platform needed to create a sustainable ferry service on the Channel. It also means that we have an equal number of French and UK flagged ships on the Channel, making the service a truly Anglo-French partnership, which we believe is in everyone’s best interests."
The ships are now deployed on the Dover routes.
