Important information regarding the implementation of DMS Export, Color Line's departures from Hirtshals.
EXTENDED PROCESSING TIME - DMS EXPORT
As of Tuesday, April 9th, we started scanning arrival to exit in DMS Export. This has a major impact on our processing time at the counter in Hirtshals. As a result, we continue to cite our standard attendance requirements.
Generally, trailers must arrive no later than two hours before departure. If this is not the case, we cannot guarantee that the trailer will reach the specified departure. This is a consequence of the extended processing time in DMS.
Self-driving units with unstarted DMS exports must visit the customs office to have the export declaration released. They must return after fifteen minutes to ensure the shipment is in the right status. We will then issue a ticket to the driver and send the driver to the customs office.
If the driver is carrying an EAD document, it is crucial that they have documentation that the export declaration has been released. Otherwise we must send the driver to customs to be sure the export declaration is in the right status. Drivers who have an EAD document which is already released must get in touch with us immediately for check-in and document scanning.
From scanning of the documents, there is a further 15-minute "time-out" between scanning and the electronically inspection. Customs authorities communicates the outcome of this check. At this point, the self-driving unit can proceed to the dock before boarding. It is important that your drivers are informed about this.
DMS EXPORT AND SHIPPING - ARE YOU READY?
May 1st is fast approaching. This means that we will no longer be able to use the Danish Customs Agency's e-Export and Transit systems. This is part of a new customs regulation in the EU, which places greater demands on the information that must be entered into the customs systems.
