Klaipeda ferry port is situated at the mouth of the Dane River where it flows into the Baltic Sea. The city is the third largest in Lithuania, and it has become the most important Lithuanian transport hub. The port of Klaipeda is one the most northerly ice-free port in the east Baltic. Ferry crossings are to Karlshamn in Sweden and Kiel in Germany, operated by DFDS Seaways.
