Freight ferries from Northern Ireland to England and Scotland
Belfast Harbour is Northern Ireland's principal maritime gateway and logistics hub, serving the Northern Ireland economy and increasingly that of the Republic of Ireland.
Around 70% of Northern Ireland's and 20% of the entire island's seabourne trade is handled at the Harbour each year. With 24.6m tonnes and 1.51m passengers handled in 2018, Belfast port is part of a busy harbour.
532,000 freight vehicles passed through Belfast port last year making full use of the 8km of operational quays and wharves. With several hotels nearby and cafes and restaurants within walking distance, Belfast city quay has had a multi-million-pound refurbishment in recent years making it a hub of activity in the city, meaning you can do anything from work-out in several nearby gyms to getting a food shop in at the local Tesco.
